Another Road Trip

5 dudes, 5 days, 1463 kms in 1 car driving around the place they call "One State, Many Worlds" - my state, Karnataka.

Places visited: Chitradurga, Chandravalli, Tunga Bhadra Dam, Hampi, Koodala Sangama, Aihole, Pattadakal, Badami, Jenu Kallu Gudda, Magod Falls, Yana, Sonda, Jog Falls.

Here is a small sampling of the photos I took. More later at the usual place.

Roads? Great in some stretches, good in few others, needs repair in some sectors - notably, portions of NH13 between Chitradurga and Hospet, the Bijapur-Hubli stretch, the Yellapur-Sirsi stretch, Shimoga-Tarikere stretch. The good news is most of these roads are already under repair.

All in all, a wonderful and memorable trip. Our antics to find overnight accomodation is a big story in itself :-)

If you are planning for such a trip, you won't regret it.

PS: The car was an (almost new) Hyundai Accent. Cost per head (all inclusive) came to approximately Rs.2440. Very reasonable by any yardstick!

I think you should write a bit more about your trip. Too brief :-(

I will, just a matter of finding time to write it up.

Some of the incidents on the trip are really worth writing about... will happen soon.
